About Andrew

Andrew has spent all his working life helping clients manage their financial affairs.

Having been an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Banking, in 1992 he joined Prudential, and later worked for Scottish Mutual (part of the Abbey National Group), working closely with IFAs.

Andrew became an independent adviser himself in 2000. Later, he became a shareholder/director in the IFA arm of an accountancy firm, achieving Chartered Financial Planner status in 2009.

Andrew moved to a large regional adviser in 2012, and joined Astute in late 2024. He prides himself on having excellent technical knowledge, particularly in the fields of investment portfolio management, pensions, and Inheritance Tax mitigation.

Andrew is keen to deliver the highest possible service levels. Many of his loyal clients have worked with him for nearly twenty years, and were keen to continue doing so when he joined Astute.

What Andrew likes the most about his job is the variety it brings, as no two days are the same. He also likes working with and meeting new clients, particularly those who speak their mind – the blunter the better – as it makes for a smoother working relationship.

Andrew lives in Holywell with his wife, Gill. He has three adult children (respectively a teacher, policeman, and former student), and enjoys family time and travelling.
