About Scott
Scott has a BSc in Biology from Liverpool John Moores University, and an MSc and PhD, both from Liverpool University.
After university, Scott decided he didn’t want to pursue a scientific career and looked for other areas he could apply his research skills to.
Scott started his career in the financial services profession as an investment analyst, assisting in the management of multi-asset funds.
Scott continued studying, earning his IMC Certificate in ESG investing, and is a CFA Charterholder.
Before joining Astute, Scott worked as an asset class strategist, responsible for third-party fund research.
Today, he’s responsible for the day-to-day management of the VT Astute fund range. He feels rewarded seeing the real-life impact of sound investment decision-making.
Scott is married with two young daughters.
As an adopted Scouser, born in Widnes but living in Liverpool since university, Scott likes following various sports, particularly football and cycling.
Any spare time Scott had evaporated when his second daughter was born, though he did take up chess after the pandemic. He tends to lose quickly enough to squeeze a match in between kids’ activities…
